A random but awesome find in Shimizu. Friendly and excellent hospitality. I recall they had a small but nice list of whiskeys (though I don't see them on their menu now?) as well. You would have a good time and drip coffee here.

We had a wonderful and delicious time at 76. We ordered the morning set. Everything fresh and delicious. Coffee perfectly roasted and enjoyable. Lemon pound cake sweet and paired beautifully with coffee. Owners very friendly and thoughtful. Will eat here again!

The kappa rice is soooooooooooo tasty. The owners are so friendly, and able to speak in English fluently. Most of the customers are old folks local around Shimizu area, they will talk to each other, even I don't understand what they saying, they will still approach and trying to be friendly. I feel so warmed in the cafe. I remember the boss lady telling me the typhoon is hitting tomorrow, I don't even know that, it is very useful information, and I appreciate it! Definitely the best restaurant around the area, you will not regret to drop by and have a cup of coffee.

Excellent value here, and friendly service and good coffee topped up the experience. I even enjoyed the 70’s classic rock music. But it was the value that really made 76 cafe stand out for me. I had the Gapao rice plate with a very good coffee for just 1100 yen. If I had one small criticism it would be that there are only three dishes on the menu and they are all fairly heavy with a lot of rice. It would be nice to see something smaller and lighter like a Phad Thai or even a simple salad with chicken. But all in all a very good, tasty lunch with friendly staff (three family members I think) and nice atmosphere. I speak Japanese but if you speak very basic English it should be okay. They don’t seem hesitant or uncomfortable with foreigners at all. On the contrary I had nothing but smiles and a feeling of welcome.

Some expert Coffee baristas here. Try the pour over Kenya and watch all the steps he puts into the cup. It’s the best cup I’ve had riding the length of Japan.
